You are looking at a 2008 Gibson Reverse Explorer with an Antique Walnut finish, Gold hardware, lightning bolt pickguard... and a very cool "Ted McCarty" designed headstock! This is Gibson USA's Guitar of the Month for September 2008... and she's a real eye-catcher! Last year's Reverse Flying V triggered an unprecedented response from both players and collectors. Once again, the engineers at Gibson USA have flipped the body of one of their most iconic guitars, and the result is stunning. The Reverse Explorer's one-piece mahogany body is now inverted so that the small horn is on the upper bass-side extending upward, while the larger horn is now pointing downward. Highlighting the unique body outline is a carbon fiber pickguard shaped like a lightning bolt, extending the entire length of the body. The neck is a hybrid between Gibson's standard '50s rounded contour and its '60s slim-taper profile, topped by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with carbon fiber inlays at the fifth and 12th fret. All this being said... this is a very cool and unique axe!

She was born only a few weeks ago and has never been owned! I just picked this up from the original retailer who shipped this to me on the very same day he received it from Gibson! This guitar is completely unplayed and in perfect, flawless, mint condition with no issues. Otherwise... the neck is straight with no cracks or repairs... the frets are perfect with their entire life ahead... and the sound is amazing! Also included is the original Gibson Limited Edition hard shell case (shown in the pictures) which is also in perfect condition, and has "Guitar of the Month" printed on the lid and on the inner satin shroud... This also comes with the case candy and adjustment tool! Whoever wins this auction is going to be STOKED!
