2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard Flame Top ~ Wine Red ~ 11-22-2011

COMES WITH 80'S LP CHAINSAW CASE! COOOOL!!

You're looking at a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard, with a Wine Red gloss finish on a smokin' flamed maple top and chrome hardware! If you can't stand the newer chambered standards, and prefer your LP's to have some meat on their bones; you're gonna DIG this one! Weighing in at a muscular 10 lbs, this is clearly not for the weak! If you are strong enough to pick this one up, you will not be disappointed in the sound! She has an amazing tone and sustain, and plays effortlessly! With the exception of the strap locks, she's all original... and I just put a fresh new set of 10-46's on her, so she's all dressed up and ready to rock!

Here is the lowdown on all the features:

  1. * AAA Grade Flamed Maple Top with Binding
  2. * Mahogany Body ~ NOT Chambered
  3. * Scale Length: 24-3/4"
  4. * Mahogany Set Neck
  5. * 60's Slim Neck Profile ~ Not "too thin" though!
  6. * Bound Rosewood Fretboard with 22 Frets
  7. * Pearloid Trapezoid Fret Inlays
  8. * Gibson Burstbucker Pro Bass & Treble Humbucker Pickups
  9. * 2 Volume & 2 Tone Controls
  10. * 3-way Pickup Selector
  11. * Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Stop Tail
  12. * Chrome Hardware
  13. * Gold Top Hat Knobs
  14. * Gibson Vintage Style Tuners
  15. * She Weighs 10 lbs. on the nose!
  16. * Serial # 03103xxx

She just celebrated her 8th birthday, and has been played, but well cared for. There are a few light surface impressions on the top, and a larger surface ding on the upper bout, where your pick-arm rests. This is not noticeable when looking straight at the guitar, but when turning under direct light (at an angle) it is clearly visible. The back has some mild surface scratches, and a few light nicks along the back edge. There is also a chip on the tip of the headstock, which was reglued back in place. Otherwise, the neck is straight, with no cracks or repairs... the frets are excellent, with plenty of life ahead of them... and the sound is sweet! Also included is the 80's Gibson "chainsaw" case, which is missing the "Gibson" plate from the lid, but all of the latches are present and in great working order. These cases are actually sought after, so although this is not original for this guitar, it is a cool added bonus!
