You're looking at a 2002 Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop Historic Goldtop Limited Edition Murphy Aged! Gibson produced only 52 of these guitars to in 2002, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 1952 LP. If you are curious to see how accurate this reproduction is, go ahead and click on my other auctions, and you will see a real 1952 that I also have available. It is truly remarkable how similar they are! Tom Murphy paid meticulous attention to detail, and this looks like the genuine 59 year old! The action is nice and low... and the sound is fantastic! She's 100% original and unmessed with!

She just celebrated her 9th birthday, and has been totally babied. I just picked this up from a colledctor friend of mine, who has more guitars, than time to play them. Subequently, this one has not been played much at all. I'm not going into details regarding, nicks, dings and checking, as these "flaws" were all artfully created by the great Tom Murphy. There is no actual playwear of any kind. The neck is straight, with no cracks or repairs... the frets are strong, with plenty of life ahead... and the sound is as sweet as it gets! Also included is the original custom shop case, which is also in great condition, and includes the case candy and special 50th, Murphy Certificate, just as shown in the last picture!
